The DAVE Project

Our first press release!!

Okay so we’ve got some really exciting stuff going on! I know I always say that, but it’s because, well, it’s been true a lot lately! Anyway, to start us off, we had our first press release sent out this week to all of the Rhode Island papers, which was put together by our friend Aaron Melaragno. Sweet! Nothing like getting the ball rolling! Then, Alyssa and I were interviewed by The Valley Breeze yesterday! An article just about The DAVE Project? Yup! How cool is that?! You’re probably asking “Hey Alex, when will we be able to read about you on the front page of USA Today??” There’s no telling, but it’ll probably be a matter of hours! Anyway, you’ll just have to settle for the press release below, and keep your eyes peeled to see what pops up in the RI news scene!

Oh also don’t forget to RSVP to the cabaret, seats are going fast!

The DAVE Project is a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers little-to-no-cost performing arts education for public school children, taught by active professional performers. Standing for Dedicated Artists for the Vitality of arts Education, The DAVE Project is inspired by the life of David Gorgone, his passion for music and theater, and his passion for people, The DAVE Project intends to continue the spirit of David’s life through the conception of a professional theater company in his name. This company exists with the aim of educating all who wish to learn about theater and music, but may not be able to achieve the desired level of education in their respective public schools due to budget constraints, and who may not be able to afford a school with a specialization in performing arts.

In David’s true spirit, we intend to promote the recognition of the importance of art as human beings, and the importance of people and friendships in our everyday lives. We also find it to be incredibly important to allow for an opportunity for education by practicing professionals, as this will give participants the greatest chance for success within the theater and music community.  For more information visit www.thedaveproject.com, or Like them on facebook.com-the-dave-project.
